Not everybody leaving an organisation is looking for a new job, many decide that Self-Employment or Contracting is for them. Our self-employment workshops accommodate up to 15 delegates to encourage interaction. 

We cover all aspects of self-employment including areas such as:
  • advantages and pitfalls of being self employed 
  • trading status - Sole Trader v Limited company
  • business ideas - eBay shops, selling on Amazon, lead generation websites, self-publishing
  • limited company formation - and running a limited company including reporting and practicalities
  • tax - VAT, corporation tax, self assessment, dividend tax, real time filing and making tax digital etc.
  • insurance - business car insurance though to professional indemnity and employers liability insurance, goods in transit etc.
  • legal requirement
  • traditional and e-marketing including the use of social media / eBay / Amazon etc
  • record keeping for both sole-traders and limited companies
  • contracting and IR35 - how to find roles and operate as a contractor
  • reducing tax liability
The day is designed to provide guidance and inspiration for those thinking about going self-employed, a realisation about how it affects a person and their families lives, whilst also looking at the more practical side of self-employment. 

If in Northern Ireland we also cover Republic of Ireland registered Limited Companies, ROI Tax, and aspect of trading in the Republic of Ireland

Supporting the day are comprehensive notes provided via our slides which are updated prior to each workshop we run, and are comprehensive in highlighting the content of the workshop.
