With many organisations having to restructure their internal staffing to accommodate funding cuts, or simply to make the business more efficient and leaner as new technologies are introduced, we provide both 1-2-1 and group support to help individuals affected.
Over recent years we have worked with private sector organisations, local councils, NHS Trusts, and numerous Housing Associations undertaking restructuring exercises. Our approach is rather than deliver prescriptive sessions, we work with the organisation to deliver a more tailored and bespoke service around their own reapplication and re-selection exercise.
As an idea of the costs of delivering the various elements we can provide:
Individual 1-2-1 Support £385 + VAT for half a day
The time used to provide specific support in areas such as:
- CV writing prior to reapplying for roles, or help and support completing an application forms
- help with interview preparation
Group 1-2-1 Support £765 + VAT One hour of 1-2-1 support per person (8 sessions per day)
The time used to either:

Half day CV writing workshops £535 + VAT (10 people)
The group sessions When you have larger numbers to support we can run two back-to-back workshops in one day at a reduced cost of £765 + VAT
To provide an idea of the support we can deliver, please find below three case studies.
Case Study 1 - Housing Association
Over 100 individuals had to apply for roles in the new structure via a CV and supporting statement. They would then undertake a 1 hour competency and value based interview which also included some subjective questions around motivation for the new roles.
Stage 1 - We provided a CV writing guide to all those affected including easy to follow CV templates in advance of any direct intervention so they could produce a base electronic CV document to be used in their CV writing 1-2-1 session
Stage 2 - A Consultant was based on-site for a number of days tweaking and optimising individual CVs, in many cases making drastic changes to the CV, for those struggling - typing up a CV from scratch. 8 CV writing sessions / day. The most massive impact upon the CV's was to ensure achievements were added highlighting the individuals skills and ability
Stage 3 - At the end of the 1-2-1 session we ran through the supporting statement requirements and provided detailed advice on how they should write their statements - in particular suggesting in-depth evidence which may include STAR based examples. This advice was backed up by a section in the CV writing guide which we went though with each person
Stage 4 - Prior to the interviews we ran half day group interview training sessions which included comprehensive advice on interview preparation along with practical exercises. In the session attendees started to develop competency based example - the Consultant sitting down on a 1-2-1 basis to review the structure / content / understand-ability of their answers (not a role play just as a review). Also covered were value based interviews, reviewing the organisations own values and helping to suggest how to prepare for them plus a number of unstructured questions. A key message was to point out that although the interviewer may have been someone they new well, they needed as part of the interview to describe in depth the situation and the issues etc, as if the person was a complete stranger to gain maximum marks. Session supported by a comprehensive hard copy interview guide
Stage 5 - For those leaving the business we ran group workshops which covered job hunting and expanded on tailoring a CV to individual roles, further interview preparation advice looking at unstructured interviews in more depth
Case Study 2 - London Council
Major downsizing of the workforce due to budget cuts involving numerous individuals across - housing, child services, finance and revenue services, administration, specialist support.
Stage 1 - We ran full day workshops covering CV writing, completing application forms, supporting statements, interview technique. All aspects of job search were covered as many were taking voluntary redundancy and the council wished to give everyone the same support regardless of whether they may be considering internal application. Session supported by our comprehensive job hunting and CV writing guide, interview preparation guide.
Stage 2 - We ran 1-2-1 CV writing sessions for all employees which were 2 hours long. The extended time was to allow us to explore transferable skills and help highlight alternative non-public-sector employment opportunities
Case Study 3 - Private Sector Business
A major internal restructuring was taking place affecting over 100 staff. The initial need was to support staff with interview technique and to run sessions for individuals looking to leave under voluntary redundancy or taking early retirement.
Stage 1 - For those who had decided to leave voluntarily we ran workshops on self-employment, retirement planning, job search
Stage 1 - For those applying internally for roles, we provided comprehensive notes on preparing for competency interviews and then a few weeks later we ran 1-2-1 sessions to support individuals with interview preparation tailored to the organisations competencies / behaviours. In these sessions we provided feedback on pre-prepared competency example scenarios to ensure the detail and impact of those scenarios effectively highlighted ability and skill set
Stage 2 - For those unsuccessful in the re-selection process we ran further job hunting, self employment and retirement planning workshops
